Field Settings, Formatting, and Masks

Field Type

The field type is shown in a purple pill in the top right corner of the left-hand sidebar

Settings

• Category
  • This correlates the section within the customer record
• Label
  • This is what the end user will see when being prompted to provide a value
• Placeholder
  • This is the text seen in the box before the user clicks into the field
  • This is also referred to as "ghost text" sometimes
• Description
  • This show up beneath the box in light gray text
  • This is similar to an info or help bar
• Default Value
  • This is available for most field types if you would like to provide a default value for this field
  • The end user has the option to change this but choosing a default value can save some time when filling out an application
• Required
  • If you require a field the user must enter or choose a value

Formatting

• Numbers will allow Minimum and Maximum 
• Numbers will allow for quantifying the number by choosing Currency or Percentage

Masks

• Masks provide a strict structure to a field
• Examples would be SSN, EIN, DOB, Zip Code, and more
• You must choose a Text Field as the field type to utilize masks
